CASA Book Club Newsletter
The CASA Book Club will be meeting on Thursday, May 16 from 7 – 8 pm at the Barnes and Noble at Colorado Mills, 14000 W. Colfax. (The store is located on the north side of Colfax near Whole Foods).
The CASA Jeffco/Gilpin book club meets to discuss books and movies that allow sharing and perspective on issues that help frame our role in the best interests of the children we serve. Participation in watching or reading AND coming to the hour club earns 3 hours of CASA educational credit.
The BOOK we will read is I’m Supposed to Make a Difference by Kevin Vought. The book is a memoir and describes how Kevin fought a grueling, decades-long battle against long-buried memories to overcome suicidal feelings, depression, and self-loathing to develop five principles for moving forward and normalizing trauma and eventual healing. The book is available on Amazon and Kindle.
Come prepared to discuss how the characters and plot has helped you to understand and apply your CASA role.
