Understanding Child Development through a Trauma-Informed Lens

Join us as our guest, Christy Mathews, MA, LPC, helps us better understand typical child development patterns and how experienceing trauma can impact the trajectory of a child’s development. She will also provide CASA Advocates with strategies for navigating these differences in child development patterns in children who have experienced trauma and educate us on how trauma-informed care promotes healing and resilience.
Christy is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the Family Intervention Services Supervisor with the Jefferson County Department of Human Services.
